Pakistan calls on Iran and US to maintain ceasefire

Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, on the occasion of the US-Iranian negotiations held in Islamabad, stressed that it is imperative that "the parties remain committed to the ceasefire."

"We hope that the two sides will maintain a positive spirit in order to achieve lasting peace and prosperity for the entire region and beyond," the statement said.

According to him, Pakistan will continue to play a role in mediating engagement and dialogue between Iran and the US “in the coming days”.
