The Montenegrin women's national football team will welcome the Czech Republic to Nikšić today at 4 p.m. in a match from the 4th round of Group B1 of the UEFA Nations League, which is also the first round of qualifications for the 2027 World Cup.

Our women's football team lost to the Czech Republic away 5:0 on Tuesday, which was their third defeat in this cycle.

– Another tough match awaits us. The Czech Republic has confirmed that they are a very strong team, confident, well-coordinated and experienced, and that they are a serious candidate for first place in the group and a trip to a major competition. The expenditure is high, and this level of competition requires maximum concentration. It is up to us to prepare as well as possible for the second match, to close ranks and to match our rival as best we can, said coach Mirko Marić.

For the second match against the Czech Republic, Marić can count on Maša Tomašević, who missed the first match due to illness, while Selma Ličina and Ivana Boričić are missing from the squad.

– It is unrealistic to expect a surprise, but I am sure that we can do better than in the Czech Republic. We are playing against a team that is much better, we knew that in League B we would face extremely demanding opponents. We will try to put up as much resistance as possible, to comply with the coach's demands, especially in the defensive part. In the first game we conceded harmless goals, we have to do everything to at least make the Czechs' job in Nikšić more difficult, said Slađana Bulatović.

Before their defeat in the Czech Republic, Montenegro lost to Albania in Nikšić, in a 2-1 upset, and to Wales away 6-1. The Czech Republic, on the other hand, drew 2-2 with Wales at home and beat Albania away 5-1.
