After the devastating earthquake in Venezuela, there may be as many as 100 thousand dead.

Although the government has not yet released a final assessment, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) estimated that the number of casualties could be between 10,000 and 100,000, based on the strength of the earthquake and the population density of the affected area.
