With the launch of the Youth Cup of traditional diving, the Capital has gained a unique sports event that emphasizes younger categories. The first qualifications on the Cijevna River showed that Podgorica has exceptional potential in this traditional sport.
„As for this event, this is the first time in history that a youth cup of traditional diving is being held. Montenegro is rich with many locations, and there are many young swimmers. This year I wanted to create an event for young divers and provide them with this competition and enjoyment. The qualifications for the Youth Cup will have three locations. The first location here at the Niagara Falls, the second location in Bioči, and the final competition from the Vezirov Bridge,“ says Elvad Krnić, the organizer.
This sports event was realized as part of the recognizable campaign of the Tourist Organization „Podgorica – summer on the rivers.“ In this way, in addition to promoting natural potentials, systemic support is provided to young talents, it was announced by the Tourist Organization of Podgorica.
„Today we are here to mark the first event with the sports club ‘Vezir’ with which the Tourist Organization of Podgorica organized this cup of traditional diving this year, all with the aim of presenting these young enthusiasts of this sport, to help them step out of anonymity and start competing,“ says Dragan Grnović from TO Podgorica.
After today’s qualifications on the Cijevna River, the competitors will move to the second qualifying station in Bioči, where they will fight for the remaining spots in the finals, and the grand finale of the Youth Cup will be held at the Vezirov Bridge, as part of the traditional dives.
