„At the initiative of civic activist Aleksandar Dragićević, I have sent a proposal to the mayor for the urgent provision of additional equipment for fire protection and rescue,” said Perić.
The initiative, as he states, includes the procurement of at least two high-power generators, three to five low-power generators, as well as several hundred backpacks (back-mounted sprayers for extinguishing fires).
„According to the information I have, last year’s fires, especially in the areas of Kuča and Pipera, have shown how necessary such resources are. Generators allow the operation of pumps even when there is a power outage, while backpacks are one of the most important tools for quick response in the initial phase of a fire and preventing its spread.
I believe this is a responsible and effective proposal that can contribute to the protection of lives, property, and nature, which is why I expect the relevant authorities to consider this initiative with special attention before the peak of the fire season,” emphasized the president.
