During the previous weekend, from June 26 to 29, 68 traffic accidents were recorded on Montenegrin roads, in which one person was killed, nine people sustained serious injuries, while 29 people were lightly injured, it was announced by the Police Administration.

„Traffic police officers, as part of intensified preventive and repressive activities, filed 210 misdemeanor reports, issued 1,820 misdemeanor orders, temporarily confiscated nine pairs of license plates, and excluded the same number of vehicles from traffic,“ said the police.

A total of 95 drivers were deprived of liberty, of which:

· 42 drivers for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in a concentration greater than 1 g/kg or for refusing to undergo alcohol testing;

· 14 drivers for operating a vehicle under the influence of narcotic drugs or other psychoactive substances, or for refusing to undergo testing;

· 39 drivers for committing other serious offenses under the Law on Road Traffic Safety.

The highest number of drivers deprived of liberty was in Podgorica – 35, followed by seven in Budva, and four each in Bijelo Polje and Kotor.
