No tankers passed through the Strait of Hormuz today, April 19, according to data from the Marine Tracker website, after Iran again closed the strategic waterway "due to ceasefire violations."

According to available data from the Marine Tracker website, Sunday was one of the calmest days in the strait since the beginning of the conflict, as no tankers were recorded passing through, CNN reports.

Footage from a ship tracking website shows a large number of vessels anchored near the strait, while some ships circled to avoid entering the waterway.

A small number of smaller vessels have nevertheless entered the canal, but they are mostly tugboats or ships under the Iranian flag.

Earlier today, two sanctioned tankers carrying liquefied petroleum gas were on their way out of the Persian Gulf, but were suddenly forced back by Iranian armed forces, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday that the strait was closed to traffic again "due to violation of the ceasefire conditions" and because "the American enemy has not lifted the naval blockade of Iranian ships and ports."

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced on Friday that the Strait of Hormuz would be open to all commercial ships until the end of the ceasefire with Lebanon, but that decision was reversed on Saturday.
