The start of the match was marked by a fierce battle, with points being exchanged practically one by one until 12:12, when Bulgaria managed to pull ahead and reach 14:12, and then had 16:13. They continued to rack up points, quickly reaching a five-point lead – 20:15. From that moment until the end of the first part of the game, our team only managed to score one point – 25:16.
The second set brought a more equal fight, with teams alternating in the lead, and at a score of 7:7, Radulović’s boys scored three consecutive points – 10:7. They did not maintain the same rhythm, allowing Bulgaria to come back and equalize at 10:10. Unlike the first set, this time our team was more focused, and then reached 18:14 after an ace serve from Luka Milošević. Bulgaria called a timeout, after which they made an incredible 6:0 run and took the lead 20:18. A great battle ensued until the end of the set, with Montenegro managing to come back and turn the score around to 24:22, then using their second set point to equalize in sets – 25:23.
The third set was better opened by Montenegro, leading 3:1, and held the advantage until 8:8, when Bulgaria started to play better and managed to pull away – 14:9. Our team tried to catch up, getting closer at 16:12, but could not get any closer. When Bulgaria reached 20:14, it was clear they would take the lead in sets – 25:18.
In the fourth part of the game, our team started better, quickly reaching 5:1, but the tough Bulgaria managed to completely come back and quickly equalize at 7:7. It was also tied in the middle of the fourth set – 12:12. Bulgaria then scored three consecutive points to make it 15:12, prompting coach Radulović to call a timeout. Bulgaria continued to score points after that, quickly reaching 20:16. Our representatives did not give up, scoring two points in a row, which forced the Bulgarian coach to call a timeout. The Bulgarians consolidated themselves and routinely maintained their lead, securing a spot in the final with a score of 25:20, where they will face Turkey, who also defeated Serbia 3:1.
The most effective player in our team was Vuk Stanojević with 16 points, followed by Aleksa Radić with 13. A significant contribution also came from Filip Milosavljević, who finished the match with nine points, while Vukota Čelebić had eight.
For Bulgaria, Dženev stood out with 19 points, Kosev had 13, and Veselinov scored 11 points.
Montenegro will play for the bronze medal against Serbia on Monday at 5 PM, while the final between Turkey and Bulgaria is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
