At the initiative of the Municipality of Šavnik, the Municipality of Bar organized a four-day stay for 45 students from Šavnik and four swimming instructors, who are accommodated at the Red Cross Home in Sutomore.
During their stay, they were visited by the President of the Municipality of Šavnik, Jugoslav Jakić, and the Vice President of the Municipality of Bar, Tanja Spičanović, who talked to them and ensured that they had all the conditions for a pleasant and fulfilling stay.
“This beautiful tradition confirms that social responsibility and care for children are not just part of strategic documents, but values that we affirm through concrete actions. The children who stay in our city do not carry with them only memories of the joy of summer, the sea, friendships, and new experiences, but also the feeling that there are communities that think of them, provide support, and create equal opportunities for carefree growing up,” emphasized Vice President Spičanović.
“Today I came to visit our little ones who are enjoying their well-deserved summer vacation. The greatest wealth of every municipality is its children, and their smiles are the best confirmation that such initiatives make sense. The Municipality of Šavnik will continue to stand by its children, as investing in them means investing in the future of our city. On this occasion, I would also like to thank the Municipality of Bar for providing unforgettable summer vacations for children from Šavnik for many years,” said the President of the Municipality of Šavnik, Jugoslav Jakić.
The special value of this gesture is given by the fact that Šavnik is a municipality facing numerous developmental challenges characteristic of the northern region of Montenegro, so such examples of mutual support have a much broader social significance than just organizing summer vacations.
In this sense, Bar continues to be an example of good practice, nurturing mutual respect, friendship among municipalities, and building bridges of solidarity.
