Serbian national team player Nikola Jokić led the winning team with a triple-double, his second of this year's playoffs.
He had 27 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds. He made nine field goals out of 15 attempts (1/4 for three points).
He was followed by Jamal Murray with 24, Spencer Jones with 20 and Cameron Johnson with 18 points.
Jokić recorded his 221st career triple-double in the fifth playoff game between Denver and Minnesota, tying him with Russell Westbrook, who until yesterday was the lone leader on the all-time list. If Jokić shines with another such game with three double-digit numbers in the statistical columns this spring, he would become the basketball player with the most triple-doubles in NBA history.
When only playoff games are counted, Jokić is currently third on the all-time list with 22 triple-doubles. Only Magic Johnson (30) and LeBron James (28) are ahead of him.
Among Minnesota's players last night, Julius Randle stood out with 27 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Dosunmu scored 18, and Shannon and Hyland each had 15 points.
The Timberwolves shot 43 percent from three-point range (12/28), but they were left with nine fewer assists and nine more turnovers than their rivals. The Nuggets managed to steal 16 of them, which could not go unpunished.
The next match will be played on the night between Thursday and Friday in Minneapolis.
