The XVIII International Literary Festival "Where I Call From, Podgorica 2026" will be held from July 2 to 5 in front of the Banja building, where Karver has been operating for 21 years.

The organizers announce that this year’s edition of the festival will gather prominent writers, filmmakers, publishers, and university professors from Montenegro and the region, along with a rich literary, film, and theater program.

As announced, this year’s festival carries the subtitle „Ice and Ball – Essay or Life on Trial,“ in memory of one of the most significant Montenegrin essayists and playwrights, Božo Koprivica (1949–2026).

“We are very pleased that this year, during the Festival days, we will present outstanding Montenegrin, European, and world creators and their works – literary, film, and theatrical. We contribute to the awareness that Montenegrin contemporary culture and heritage are in relation to the world and that we always have something important and authentic to express. The XVIII International Literary Festival ‘Where I Call From, Podgorica 2026’, with the tradition it has created and its reputation beyond borders, proves this,” the statement reads.

Among the participants of this year’s festival will be writers, film directors, professors, and publishers from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro, including Niko Goršič, Kruno Lokotar, Ivan Sršen, Branko Čegec, Dino Mustafić, Vuk Perović, Aleksandar Radoman, Damjan Pejanović, Ana Vukotić, Ana Vučković, Ilija Đurović, and many others.
