Quarter-final week: Barcelona crushes Newcastle and sends a clear message

After last week's match on the Island ended without a winner (1:1), tonight at their "Nou Camp" the Spanish team outclassed the "Magpies" with a score of 7:2, and now awaits the winner of the duel between Atletico Madrid and Tottenham (the Spanish team won the first match in Madrid 5:2).

This was Barcelona's 18th consecutive home win in all competitions, with an impressive goal difference of 66:14, confirming the incredible power of the Catalan team in front of their home crowd.

The most enthusiastic individual of the match was captain Rafinha, who scored two goals, registered two assists, forced a penalty, and was also involved in his team's second goal.

The visitors entered the match bravely, came out high, threatened after a corner, but the hosts took the lead from the first real chance of the match in the sixth minute. Barça could have taken another lead in the 41st minute. Chau lost the ball in the middle of the field, Rafinha served the ball on a plate for Robert Lewandowski who could have chosen, but in the end his shot was blocked by the brilliant Dan Brn and prevented a sure goal.

In the first minute of stoppage time, the "Blaugrana" had to score a third goal. First, Ramsdale saved Rafinha's shot, and the ball bounced to Jamal, who sent the ball over the crossbar from five meters without any obstacles. It is true that he shot with his weaker right foot, but that in no way excuses one of the failures of the season.

In the final seconds of the first half, the home team took another lead. Jamal took responsibility and scored, although Ramsdale read the side and practically had the ball in his hand. The young Spanish prodigy thus atoned for the miss and also the mistake in the second goal of the rival.

After just six minutes of play, Flick's team went two ahead. Rafi connected with a goal from Fermin, who dived to score for 4:2.

Rafinha put an end to the match with his second goal of the game in the 72nd minute after a cardinal mistake by Willock.

The La Liga leader could have scored an eighth goal, but Jamal didn't take advantage of the great opportunity, or rather his shot was stopped by Ramsdale.

In the 82nd minute, Wojciech Szczesny replaced Joan Garcia, who complained of cramps and immediately requested a substitution.
