The European Union assesses that the meeting was an open and substantive discussion, during which full commitment to strengthening the organizational structure and further improving political action on the ground was confirmed. Special emphasis was placed, as they say, on the need for stronger connections with citizens and recognition of their real needs and expectations.
It was also noted that the European Union has a clear desire and ambition to grow into, as they state, a broader socio-political movement, which, according to them, will be one of the key leaders of change in Montenegro.
"All participants in the meeting agree that the EC bears a special responsibility in the current socio-political moment, as a political actor from which the most is rightly expected. Precisely for this reason, a willingness was expressed to take the initiative that will lead to much-needed and long-awaited changes in Montenegro," the statement said.
The statement concludes that the European Union remains determined to offer a clear vision of the country's development through its actions, based on, as they state, European values, the rule of law and economic progress, with the aim of creating a fairer and more prosperous society for all citizens.
