"The name and surname of the new chairman of the Association of Security Managers of Southeast Europe is less important today than the fact that the professional organizations of security managers in this part of our continent have, at this very moment, entrusted the management of the association to Montenegro," said Radulović.
The opening of the event was attended by the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, who is also the patron of the event, as well as the Minister of Defense, Dragan Krapović, and the State Secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić.
Milatović emphasized that the key to success lies in strong cooperation between all social actors and a functional security system.
"As the title of the conference itself suggests, security today cannot be viewed in isolation. There is no stable society without strong cooperation between the public and private sectors, as well as without the active involvement of the professional and academic community. It is precisely in this cooperation that the key to our strength lies. In times of complex challenges, there is no room for improvisation. Citizens expect responsibility, security and concrete results. Security must be a system that functions daily, quietly and efficiently, and not just a topic we talk about when we face problems. It is the foundation of a stable state, a prerequisite for economic development and an important pillar of our European path. Without a secure environment, there is no investment, no development and no long-term stability," the President of the country stated.
The Minister of Defense, Dragan Krapović, said that a wide range of contemporary security challenges require a quick, efficient and coordinated response.
"Our ability to recognize and adequately respond to threats directly affects the stability and prosperity of both Montenegro and the region," said Krapović.
"It is important that the conference is being held in a year when Montenegro marks 20 years since the restoration of independence and almost a decade of membership in NATO, while at the same time charting its path towards membership in the European Union," the Minister of Defense stated.
State Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić, noted that a stable and predictable security environment is becoming a key prerequisite for economic development and investment security.
"Corporate security is increasingly emerging as a common interest of the state and the economy, which opens up space for a strategic partnership based on the exchange of information, experiences and shared responsibility in risk management. In this context, security is not viewed exclusively through the prism of sophisticated threats, but also through strengthening the fundamental protection systems that form the basis of the overall resilience of the system. At the same time, accelerated technological development is introducing security into a new phase, in which digital transformation, advanced threats and data protection issues require a redefinition of the approach, balancing between operational efficiency and management of increasingly complex risks that modern technologies inevitably bring," she noted.
Incidentally, the most important event in Montenegro dedicated to corporate security brought together key stakeholders from all sectors - security managers from the public and private sectors, supervisory authorities, representatives of the academic community and leading companies that manage critical infrastructure, and we are holding it under a symbolic and strong name.
The focus of the conference will be on protecting critical infrastructure and resources, improving cybersecurity in the era of digital transformation,
application of artificial intelligence and new technologies in protection systems, risk management and efficient response to crisis situations, as well as strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors.
