At the very beginning of the program, KIC Director Branko Noković greeted Knežević, pointing out his thorny political path and the numerous problems he encountered in practice, which he overcame with a responsible civic stance in the fight for the rule of law in Montenegro.
Ana Đurović, a poet from Podgorica, who successfully hosted the evening, then announced Dragan Koprivica, who, with good contact with the audience, presented his satirical aphorisms and sang popular hits.
In the main part of the program, Knežević spoke verses from his new collection with acting talent, emphasizing the neuralgic points of our contemporary society, from bribery, corruption and nepotism to the downfall of certain corrupt ministers who replaced comfortable offices with prison cells. The song about the SKAJ application caused special laughter and applause from all viewers, because the author satirically described the traumas of potential "candidates", who wait every morning to see whether they will be on SKAJ or not, and what reactions this will cause in the general public.
Knežević also read verses in a self-ironic tone, in which he describes his mother's nervousness, who asks him if there is anyone in Parliament who can speak out on dangerous topics except him, who has taken issue with everything and everyone from the opposing bloc and the world of crime with his name-calling. He also satirically dealt with the neuroses of today's distracted women, who wonder at work whether they have turned off the iron at home, as well as the traps that ordinary citizens fall into when they depend on various handymen to doctors and their diagnoses.
The wider range of topics covered by Knežević, his suggestive delivery of the verses, as well as the messages he sent, marked this dynamic evening, and at the end, the audience once again rewarded the author and his portrayal of our problematic reality through satirical verses and questions: where is today's Montenegro going, with all its "achievements" and "steps forward".
Knežević will soon organize promotions of his book of satirical poetry in other cities in Montenegro and beyond. He is a professor of Serbian language and South Slavic literature, a poet and novelist, author of seven collections of poetry and the novel “Obala Nesanice”. He has received prestigious literary awards: “Radoje Domanović”, “Slobodan Kostić”, “Vidovdanska povelja”, “Mirko Banjević” and the award of the Literary Society of Kosovo and Metohija “Velika Gramata”. He has made notable appearances at numerous literary forums in Montenegro and the region, and he has spoken his satirical poetry in the Bijelo Polje Prison, and in the male and female prison for long sentences in the UIKS in Spuž.
