"We are once again witnessing open and shameful insults and threats directed at civic activists, our fellow citizens, who have been left to their own devices for years, because they remain without real institutional protection, since the reports they file often remain without any epilogue," they said in the statement.
They add that this is not an isolated case, but as they say, it has been going on for 6 years.
"As women of Cetinje, and then as members of the Municipal Committee of the DPS of the Royal Capital, we do not agree to silence, but rather demand clear support and unequivocal protection for those who are the target of attacks simply because they defend civil rights and protect Montenegrin cultural and sacred heritage," said the Women's Alliance.
As they state, the "big guys" behind the keyboard are once again targeting these brave women, and as phrases that imply harsh condemnation have, in this case, lost their meaning, they call on the competent authorities to urgently start doing their job, to finally react and provide adequate protection from violence in the online space to the members of the Center for Civil Rights, who have all this time stood by every citizen, male or female, and ultimately by Montenegro.
"Finally, we would like to say that if the authorities keep quiet about this again this time, they will once again send a message to the selective approach, and then let them be sure that the day will come when their evasion of responsibility will stop and when they will be held accountable for all their inactions and failures to act," they concluded in the statement.
