This horrific news is reported by the Mirror, and the Shreveport Police Department (SPD), the third most populous city in the US state of Louisiana, stated that the victims, aged 18 months to 14 years, were killed during a "domestic violence" in the Cedar Grove neighborhood.
The shooting occurred around 6 a.m. local time on Sunday, according to Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith.
Two adult women suffered gunshot wounds to the head and survived, while a boy was injured after jumping from a roof, local television station KTBS, an ABC affiliate for Louisiana, reported.
Suspect killed in exchange of fire
The suspect, an adult male, was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police after a pursuit in Bossier Parish, Louisiana State Police said.
A large number of police forces are still on the scene, and according to initial information, the case has elements of domestic violence.
Smith said the attacker wounded a total of 10 people.
Officials said they are still gathering details about the crime scene, which spans three locations.
