Recently, Jake Schreier, who previously directed last year's "Thunderbolt" and who will direct the MCU "X-Men" project, gave an update on Marvel's current plans for the project.
In an interview with Collider to promote the release of Season 2 of Beef, in which he directed all eight episodes, Shrier discussed the plans he has made with Marvel regarding the MCU X-Men projects.
Here's what he said:
"I think, obviously, first and foremost: We have to make a great movie. But we always have that in mind when we talk about it. What are the different places this could go? What are the places that were in the comics? What hasn't been explored as much and how can that be incorporated? And what are some of the different paths we could take that seem like less-trodden paths we could take? But those ideas are always there, because we're having discussions."
From this, Shrier seems to have revealed possible plans to release more MCU "X-Men" projects, if this first one is successful and well-received.
Time will tell if these plans come to fruition. Until then, MCU fans can enjoy the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” currently streaming on Disney+, and look forward to the next set of MCU theatrical releases: “Spider-Man: Dawn of War” on July 31 and “Avengers: Judgment Day” on December 18.
