Andrej Žakelj's team eliminated Mornar Barsko zlato 2:0 in the semi-final series, confirming their role as favorites. After a convincing victory in Podgorica (105:89), they were even more confident and dominant in “Topolica” tonight (103:76).
Barani took a 2-0 lead, followed by a 10-2 run by Buducnost. The reigning champion had an 11-point lead in the first quarter on two occasions, and ended the quarter with a double-digit lead – 25:15.
The "Blues" had already decided the winner by halftime, when the scoreboard showed (57:36) in their favor.
The home team briefly threatened, approaching 64:49, but Zoran Nikolić and his teammates, who were excellent today, easily repelled the onslaught of their rivals, and the difference in the final period reached the maximum plus 28 on several occasions (83:55, 86:58 and 88:60).
The best player for the winners was Zoran Nikolić with 29 points and 13 rebounds. He was followed by Fletcher Magee with 26 (five three-pointers), Yogi Ferrell (15 points and 10 assists) and Đorđije Jovanović, who finished the match with 11 points.
On the other side, Alston Talon Mason led the way with 22 points. Christopher Charles Austin (13), Alija Islamović (12) and Petar Krivokapić (10) also had double-digit performances.
Buducnost will play for their 18th title against the winner of the SC Derbi – Sutjeska duel. SC Derbi leads 1-0 in wins, and the second match is scheduled for Thursday (6pm) in Niksic.
