"In Lepa Medenica's denial, regarding the allegations that Petar Lazović exerted influence in order to obtain conditional release for a convicted murderer, everything is described, except for the most important thing: if the Higher Court approved conditional release for the second time, did the prosecutor then file an appeal or not?", Koprivica pointed out in his X order.
He recalls that, according to Medenica, the prosecutor filed an appeal for the first time, after which the Court of Appeal overturned the decision on conditional release, while at the re-hearing it gave a negative opinion.
"But the key point is missing: did the prosecutor file an appeal a second time when the High Court again granted conditional release?" Koprivica asked.
According to him, the public has the right to know whether the release of the convicted person occurred without a reaction from the prosecution.
"The public needs to know whether a convicted murderer is being released without an appeal from the prosecution, to which he was entitled, in order to serve in the election campaign, because this is not just a procedural detail, it is a picture of a profound collapse of the state and legal order," said Koprivica.
He adds that no one has the right to remain incomplete.
"The public has the right to know everything, no one has the right to remain uninformed because conditional release is an interruption of the execution of a prison sentence, provided that the convicted person does not commit a new offense during conditional release, and we see evidence that the person in question is preparing to commit an election crime," concluded Koprivica.
