U Minhenu je počela Minhenska bezbjednosna konferencija, a formalno ju je otvorio Fridrih Merc, njemački kancelar, koji je pozvao na stvaranje jače i suverenije Evrope, kako bi bila u stanju da sama obezbijedi vlastitu sigurnost.
