Hodar puts up a solid fight, Siner reaches Madrid Masters semifinals for the first time

Janik Siner advanced to his first semifinal at the Madrid Masters.

The world's number one tennis player beat the domestic hope, Rafael Hodaro, in two sets – 6:2, 7:6 (0).

The Italian thus achieved his 21st consecutive victory, and his 26th in a row when it comes to the Masters.

In the first set, Janik broke his opponent's serve twice.

The second set was far more uncertain and exciting, with no breaks. A tie-break followed, and Siner was relentless – he left his rival without a point and moved on.

His next opponent will be the winner of the Artur Fis – Jiri Lehečka match.
