Efes ends Partizan's winning streak, Monaco catches up with Red Star

The black and whites were defeated by Anadolu Efes (79:72) after overtime in the 36th round of the Euroleague, thus ending their streak of six consecutive triumphs in the elite European competition.

The first quarter was a fierce battle, but then in the second, Parni valjak “escaped” to plus 12 and went into the mandatory break with that lead. However, the home team was patient. They gradually got back into the match, took the lead, and with about 70 seconds left, Partizan was the one chasing the deficit.

Karlik John managed to bring the game into the extra five minutes, but Efes' basketball players did much better in them and ended their four-game losing streak in the Euroleague.

Jordan Lloyd led Efes to triumph with 24 points, and was also excellent Vincent Poirier with 18 points and eight rebounds.

He scored the most points for Partizan Sheikh Milton – 12.

At the same time, Monaco outplayed Asvel on its home court (81:76) and thus recorded a victory worthy of gold.

After this triumph, the Dukes have the same number of wins as eighth-placed Red Star Belgrade and ninth-placed Barcelona. They have one more win than Dubai, which is one less than Zalgiris and Panathinaikos.

The French team reached a double-digit lead by halftime, held it and entered the final period with it, but could not avoid a tense finale. The visitors slowly reduced the deficit and with 40 seconds left, they were down two. However, then on the other side Eli Okobo hit a three and settled the question of the winner.

The most efficient player on the winning team was Matthew Strazzell with 22 points and six assists, and very close to a triple-double performance was Okobo who directed 16 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

On the other hand, he emphasized Brajan Angola with 26 points.
