"During the talks, it was confirmed that Montenegro remains firmly committed to the European path, with a clear focus on fulfilling remaining obligations and achieving concrete results in key areas. The continued support of the European Commission, as well as the personal engagement of Commissioner Kos in the enlargement process, is encouraging," the Ministry said.

Kos, they point out, clearly praised Montenegro's progress in the European integration process, emphasizing that our country, as the most advanced candidate in the accession process, should maintain the dynamics of activities and ensure the continuity of reforms necessary to achieve the goal - full membership of Montenegro in the EU.

"In this context, the interlocutors agreed that further progress in key areas of the negotiations, as well as further alignment with the common foreign and security policy, including the implementation of a visa regime complementary to EU regulations, are concrete areas that the member states will thoroughly assess," the statement reads.

Ibrahimović's department points out that the meeting discussed possibilities for expanding cooperation in the areas of combating foreign interference and malignant threats, which pose a challenge to democratic processes, and identified areas where it is possible to achieve concrete results.

"In the context of reviewing the situation in the region, Vice President Ibrahimović informed about the activities to deepen and enrich bilateral relations with neighbors, including resolving open issues. He reiterated his assurances about Montenegro's determination to, by continuously investing in peace, stability and trust in the Western Balkans, maintain the role of a reliable partner and friend. The interlocutors assessed that the sequence of events at the highest level, which Montenegro will host - such as the EU-Western Balkans Summit in June this year, as well as a series of ministerial meetings and the Berlin Process Leaders' Summit, will be an opportunity to affirm and promote European values and standards in the year of marking the twenty-year anniversary of the restoration of state independence," the statement concluded.
