During the meeting, global political developments, the role of the European Union in contemporary challenges, as well as the prospects for stability in the Western Balkans were discussed, with a shared assessment that Montenegro remains a leader in European integration in the region.
Minister Ćulafić emphasized that a special focus was on the political situation in Montenegro, emphasizing that Šarec possesses a deep understanding of internal and regional processes, and that he provides clear and continuous support to the country's reform efforts.
A significant part of the conversation was dedicated to Chapter 27, where the Minister informed the interlocutor about the fulfilled obligations and achieved results of the Ministry, along with encouraging messages from European officials that Montenegro has a real opportunity to accelerate the final phase of negotiations and take decisive steps towards closing this demanding Chapter.
It was particularly emphasized that progress in this area confirms the country's readiness to meet European standards and further strengthen the accession process.
"This meeting represents yet another confirmation that Montenegro has sincere friends among European officials, who recognize the importance of stability, reforms and the European perspective of our region, but also provide concrete support for the successful completion of the negotiation process, including the closure of Chapter 27," the minister assessed.
The meeting with Šarec was held as part of Minister Ćulafić's working visit and represents an additional incentive to strengthen cooperation with European institutions and further progress of Montenegro on its path towards full membership.
