In order to improve road infrastructure, the works included the widening of the main road through the Kavač settlement, which solved the problem of passing cars in this section, as well as the visibility when driving, by adding berms and clearing dense vegetation along the roads themselves. The problem of surface drainage at the locations that were widened was also solved, by directing the flow of water.
This project represents another in a series of steps that the Municipality of Kotor is implementing to modernize the local road network. The works in the Kavač settlement, therefore, included the demolition of the existing wall structure, mechanical excavation of material, construction of an embankment, installation of a buffer layer of material, construction of concrete gutters with curbs, construction of a reinforced concrete wall 11.60m long, construction of reinforced concrete inspection chambers with sediment traps, construction of culverts, and installation of asphalt on an area of approximately 1000m2.
The total value of the investment was 99,346.14 thousand euros. The contractor was the company DOO “Asfalt-beton gradnja” from Podgorica, while the supervision of the works was carried out by the company “DING” DOO from Podgorica.
