Bruno Fernandes is the Premier League's best player

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League's Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season, after leading the Red Devils to third place and a place in the Champions League.

The Portuguese midfielder scored eight goals and registered 20 assists in the championship, equaling Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne in terms of the number of assists in a single Premier League season.

Fernandes has also created the most chances in the league this season, and managed to break David Beckham's club record for the number of assists in a single Premier League campaign.

His brilliant performances also earned him recognition from the Football Writers' Association of England, the first time a United player has received this award since Wayne Rooney.

He won the prestigious EA SPORTS award with the votes of fans and a professional jury, ahead of competitors including Erling Haaland and Declan Rice.
