The draw decided that our team would meet the national teams of Zimbabwe, Italy, Russia and Germany in the league phase of the competition.
The World Cup will bring together a total of 36 national teams, and 126 matches will be played over seven days of competition. The competition will be organized in two phases — a league phase and a final knockout phase.
The league phase will last four days, during which each team will play one match per day, for a total of four matches. There will be no classic groups, but a system of seeding and balanced draw will be used, formed according to the World Aquatics rankings as of May 15, 2026.
The teams' rankings will be determined through the TPI system (Tournament Performance Index), which takes into account: points won, opponent strength and goal difference. After the end of the league phase, the finals of the competition will follow. The eight best national teams will qualify for the medal play-offs, while the remaining teams will play classification matches for the final ranking from 1st to 36th place.
All matches will be played in a 4 x 6 minute format, on a 25 meter pitch. Each team has the right to register 15 players on the roster, while 14 players will be in the official squad for the match.
