Siner advances to the quarterfinals without major problems

Janik Siner advanced to the quarterfinals of the Madrid Masters.

The world's number one tennis player and the first favorite of the tournament in the "Magic Box" was better than Briton Cameron Norrie in two sets - 6:2, 7:5 after less than 90 minutes of play.

This is the Italian's 20th consecutive victory.

In the first set, Nori took a 1:0 lead, and then Janik won five consecutive games and easily won this part of the game.

The second set was far more uncertain. Siner broke for 3:2, but Nori responded with a rebreak to make it 3:3. After that, both held serve, and at 5:5, Janik made a crucial break and then confirmed his place in the second quarterfinal in Madrid.

He will seek his first semi-final in the Spanish capital against the winner of Vit Kopriva – Rafael Hodar.
