What makes her success even greater is the fact that she came onto the court directly from the hospital before the decisive match.
"Throughout the playoffs, I had problems with my throat, a cold, and I wasn't at my best. However, the night before the final, I fell off my electric scooter. I had tests and examinations at the hospital until two in the morning. I fell asleep for about three hours, only to have terrible pain in the morning. In that state, I had to go out on the court," Divna told Meridiansport.
The road to the title was not easy because in the finals, the girls from Houston faced quality rivals.
"We had a demanding schedule from the quarterfinals on. In the quarterfinals, we defeated North Texas 4:1, then in a very emotional and exhausting match, Charlotte 4:3, and in the final, we defeated Wichita State 4:2, even though we had previously lost a point in doubles," said our tennis player.
In the end, she deservedly received the award for best player of the tournament.
"I played the role of a "clincher", a player whose match, a point, decides the duel between two teams. That was the case in the semi-finals when I brought about the decisive victory against Charlotte, and it was the same in the final, which gives me immense satisfaction and pleasure," said Divna Ratković.
The popular "owls" with Divna Ratković as their leader will compete for the title of NCAA champion against 64 colleges starting May 1st.
