Dejan Savić's team won the trophy after a demanding match in which the Georgians showed that they had not reached the final without a reason, especially in the second quarter when they managed to turn the score around.
The team led by Revaz Chomakidze was an equal rival from the very beginning. At the start of the second period, they led 7:6.
Georgia held a two-goal lead on several occasions, which it maintained until the second minute of the final quarter, when Savo Ćetković and Balša Vučković brought Montenegro its first lead in a long period of play.
The question of the winner was decided in the final minutes. Dušan Matković and Ćetković scored for 17:14 with three minutes left, thus turning the match in favor of the "Sharks".
Matković was the most efficient player in the Montenegrin team with six goals, while Vučković scored three. On the other hand, Ahvledijani scored five goals, Jahaija three, while Veljko Tankosić, Nika Šušijašvili and Pješivac scored two goals each.
With this victory, Montenegro returns to the elite division of the World Cup next season, and also secured a place in the Super Finals, which will be held in Sydney this summer. In addition to Montenegro and Georgia, the final tournament will also feature Australia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Hungary and Croatia.
