Bus carrying pilgrims overturns in Nepal, killing seven

Seven people were killed and nine injured in Nepal when a passenger bus carrying Indian pilgrims skidded off a mountain road, police said.

According to the AP, the bus was returning from the popular Hindu temple of Manakaman, and the injured included the bus driver and his assistant.

The accident occurred about 120 kilometers west of the capital Kathmandu.

Bus traffic accidents in Nepal are common, mainly due to poorly maintained roads and vehicles.
