Iran will not allow America or anyone else to interfere in its internal affairs, such as the process of choosing a new supreme leader, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said.

"We do not allow anyone to interfere in our internal affairs. It is up to the Iranian people to choose their new leader. They have already elected the Assembly of Experts, and the Assembly of Experts will do the job. It is only a matter for the Iranian people and no one else," Araqchi told NBC News.

He added that the election of a new supreme leader will be held soon.
