In the strong competition of athletes from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, the sprinters of AK Sanja particularly stood out. Young talents shone on the track, and the most notable results were achieved by: Jovana Pejović (2017), who won silver in the 200 meters and bronze in the 60 meters, Maid Alomerović (2015) with two silvers in the 60 and 200 meters, Mina Lukolić (2012), who took silver in the 60 meters and bronze in the 100 meters, and Darija Đurašić (2016), who won bronze in the 60 meters.
Despite the great success, the medal tally was close to being even richer. Sara Mujović missed out on a medal in the 60 meters by just two hundredths of a second, while the women's relay team of the 2016 generation, consisting of Darija Đurašić, Hana Međedović, Anđela Piper and Jovana Pejović, also took fourth place.
In addition to the medal winners, notable performances and personal records were also achieved by Anđela Piper, Hana Međedović, Sara Vujović, Sofija Rakočević and Jana Popović, further confirming the continuity of quality work in the club.
Coach Sanja Đurnić, who led the team in Mostar, did not hide her satisfaction after the competition.
-I am very satisfied with the performance of our team. Not only because of the medals won, but also because of the fact that almost all competitors improved their personal records. This is the greatest success for us and confirmation that we are working in the right way. This meeting was an excellent test and we made a good overture for the 8th International Athletics Meeting for Cicibane in Bar next weekend, where we expect even better results and a nice sporting atmosphere, said Sanja Đurnić.
AK Sanja thus continues to build its reputation as one of the most promising athletic teams for the youngest in the region, with a clear ambition to confirm its excellent form on home soil next weekend.
