The "Kneževi" took a 6:0 lead and that was pretty much all they could do. PAO responded with a 7:0 run, and by the end of the opening quarter they had pulled ahead to plus nine – 23:14.
The winner was decided by the break when the scoreboard showed (49:34) in favor of the home team. Monaco managed to get close to minus seven on several occasions in the remainder of the game, but failed to threaten their rivals.
Monaco will have another playoff chance, facing the winner of the Barcelona-Red Star match on Friday.
The winner's most efficient player was TJ Shorts with 21 points. Kened Farid added 13 points, along with eight rebounds, and Nikos Rogavopoulos had 11.
On the other side, Mike James led the way with 25 points, seven assists and five steals. Alpha Diallo also had double figures (12).
