The 26th European Cup in Shot Put was held in Cyprus over the weekend, where, among the throwers from 35 countries of the Old Continent, there were three Montenegrin national team members - Marija Bogavac, Tomaš Đurović and Amir Papazi. 

After Montenegrin record holder Marija Bogavac won sixth place in the javelin throw on the first day of the competition in Nicosia with a new Montenegrin national record of 56.32 meters, two more Montenegrin throwers took to the field today - Tomaš Đurović and Amir Papazi.

In the shot put discipline, Montenegrin record holder Tomaš Đurović took ninth place with a result of 18.66 meters, while in the javelin throw discipline, Amir Papazi won 20th place with a result of 61.44 meters. Papazi was accompanied by his coach from Novi Sad, Feđa Kamasi. Montenegrin athletes finished their performance at this prestigious international competition with great success, with a national record and placement among the best in their disciplines.

284 athletes participated in the competition in Cyprus, of which 147 in the men's and 137 in the women's competition, which confirms the high level and extremely strong competition of this international athletics event.
