Luka Malović was born in 2009 in Nikšić, is 199 cm tall and plays as a power forward. He was a member of Sutjeska Elektroprivreda, and currently plays for the Dubai junior team (U19). Last summer, he was one of the best players in Montenegro at the European Cadet B Championship, and has long been recognized as a talent beyond the borders of our country. The camp, which will traditionally be held from June 5 to 7 in the Italian city of Treviso, is considered a showcase for talented basketball players who come by invitation, and is an excellent platform for those who want to try their hand at the NBA draft in the future.
The players have been divided into 6 teams, with which they will train from June 1 to 5, and then play matches divided into two groups. Malović was selected to the "NBL Next Stars" team, which is mostly made up of players from Australia, led by 18-year-old Melbourne native Dash Daniels, while some of the stars of the other teams include Oscar Wembley (younger brother of NBA star Victor Wembley), who will play for the "Eurocamp" team, which will also include Meisa Faje, then Sheikh Niang, Cameron Uindo and Sven Penda in the "Next Gen" team, and Yumiti Saidake from China in "Team World".
Numerous coaches from NBA teams will work with the players at the camp - Brian Gates and Rico Hines from Philadelphia, Ross McMains from Boston, Dave Yerger and Rex Kalamian from Milwaukee, Phil Handy from Dallas...
"It is certainly a great honor and recognition to be in the company of the best young players from around the world at the Adidas Eurocamp. As one of the youngest players at the tournament, I have a special motivation to give my best, in the presence of great coaches and people from the world of basketball. The Eurocamp in Treviso is coming right at the end of a season that has been very successful for me and is just another motivation for progress. Of course, I will do my best to represent the country in the best possible way.", emphasized Luka Malović.
Some of the Montenegrin players who previously participated in the Eurocamp in Treviso were Nikola Ivanović and Bojan Dubljević in 2013, Zoran Nikolić and Aleksa Ilić in 2018, and David Mirković and Luka Đurović participated in the NBA-FIBA camp in Wrocław 3 years ago.
