The Montenegrin water polo team recorded its second expected victory at the World Cup qualifying tournament in Malta.

After a convincing triumph over Kazakhstan (27:6), Dejan Savić's team routinely defeated Argentina 21:5.

As for the match itself, Montenegro led 2:0 and 3:1, Argentina reduced the lead to 2:1 and 3:2 and that was all from them. Strahinja Gojković and his teammates made a run of 11:0 for 14:2, so the continuation of the match was a mere formality.

The most efficient players for the winners were Nikola Moskov and Đuro Radović with four goals each. Balša Vučković added one less.

The "Sharks" will close the first phase tomorrow at 4:30 PM with a duel with another outsider, the Great Britain team.

After the introductory phase of the competition, a single table of all 24 participants will be formed, in accordance with a new ranking system that takes into account results, goal difference and the strength of the opponent.

The top 16 teams will advance to the elimination phase, followed by the round of 16 matches.

Montenegro's goal is to qualify for the final World Cup tournament, which will be held in Sydney at the end of July.
