After teasing followers on social media last night with a glimpse of Scottish actor Dominic McLaughlin as Harry in his Quidditch uniform, the official trailer for the reboot is now here, and it's been confirmed that the first season will be named after the first book, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone."
The series, due out later this year, will reinterpret J.K. Rowling's best-selling fantasy series for a new generation, following the hugely successful film franchise.
McLaughlin, who will take over the title role from Daniel Radcliffe, was cast as the protagonist after an open call for actors from the United Kingdom and Ireland in 2024.
He will star alongside Arabella Stanton, who will make her screen debut as Hermione, and Alastair Stout, who will play Ron – all three young actors can be seen during the first screening.
The trailer for “Harry Potter,” which arrived just in time for the launch of HBO Max in the United Kingdom, also features other actors, including Nick Frost, Papa Esieda, John Lithgow and Bella Povley.
