Officials of the Security Department of Podgorica, after conducting activities in cooperation with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, at the request of the prosecutor, deprived a 14-year-old minor of his liberty, suspected of physically assaulting an individual and causing serious bodily harm, it was announced by the Police Administration.

“The duty service of the Department of Public Safety Podgorica was notified on June 28, half an hour after midnight, that a disturbance of public order and peace occurred in Hercegovačka Street, in front of a hospitality facility, due to a fight between several individuals, and that one person was lying injured on the street“, stated the Police Administration.

The Police Administration emphasizes that police officers from the Department of Public Safety Podgorica immediately arrived at the scene, where they identified the injured person, a 62-year-old from Podgorica, who was transported by an ambulance to the Clinical Center of Montenegro for further medical assistance.

“The injured person was found by doctors to have serious bodily injuries to the head, and has been retained in the Intensive Care Unit of KCCG“, the Police Administration emphasizes.

The Police Administration states that through further field work, aimed at identifying and locating the perpetrators, as well as determining all facts and circumstances related to the mentioned event, police officers quickly identified and found two individuals suspected of attacking the injured person, who are both minors aged 14 years.

“After the conducted activities and collected information, at the request of the state prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, one of the minors was deprived of liberty due to reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal act of serious bodily injury, while the existence of elements of a misdemeanor under the Law on Public Order and Peace will be assessed in relation to the other minor“, concludes the Police Administration.
