During the meeting, discussions were held on improving cooperation in the field of tourism, joint promotional activities, and the possibilities for developing regional tourist products.
Kordić emphasized that guests from the region are always of special importance to Montenegro, which is why the relevant ministry strongly advocates for regional cooperation and a joint approach to distant markets.
“The Bridging Destinations concept, in which Southeast European countries participate, has already had two forums, to which Bosnia and Herzegovina was invited, and represents a continuation of the initiative to unite Balkan countries. Montenegro has meanwhile expanded the number of markets in which it is present, and this concept has also been presented through UN Tourism platforms, which confirms its significance and potential,” said Kordić.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that there is great potential for creating joint tourist products that would combine the natural beauties, mountain, coastal, or wellness tourism of Montenegro with adventure, rural, and spa tourism of the Republic of Srpska, with the aim of attracting both domestic and foreign tourists from distant markets.
“Puhovac expressed readiness for any kind of cooperation that will contribute to improving the tourist offer and strengthening ties between the Republic of Srpska and Montenegro, assessing that there is significant room for the realization of joint projects and promotional activities,” the statement adds.
The meeting was also attended by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Vuk Žižić and the Mayor of Trebinje Mirko Đurić.
