Crna Gora se u posljednje dvije decenije značajno udaljila od evropskih preporuka kada je riječ o vanbolničkoj upotrebi antibiotika. Studija Univerziteta i Kliničkog centra Crne Gore pokazuje da je od 2000. do 2022. potrošnja antibiotika u ambulantnoj praksi porasla za 71%. Stručnjaci upozoravaju da se sve češće koriste antibiotici širokog spektra, koji bi trebalo da budu rezervisani za otporne infekcije, čime se povećava rizik od razvoja antimikrobne rezistencije, neželjenih dejstava i većih troškova liječenja.
