Mira Andreeva is the first finalist of the Madrid Masters.

The Russian teenager was better than the corpulent American Haley Baptist 2:0 - 6:4, 7:6 (8) in a great match that lasted just over an hour and a half.

In the first set, the difference was made in the seventh game, in which Andreeva broke her rivals' serve.

It seemed that one break would be enough for Miri in the second set, she was leading 5:3, had a match point, but Baptist, who had surprised Aryna Sabalenka a round earlier, returned the serve and managed to extend the match, or rather to fight for a tiebreak. In the 13th game, the American was leading 4:0, then 6:4 and 7:6, but Andreeva pulled away and used the fourth match point and finished the job in two sets with 10:8.
