"Today's action once again confirmed that there are people ready to help, donate and believe in the power of togetherness. Our donors, whether they come from companies, our donors, partners and friends, or individuals who have been with us from the very beginning, are the best proof that a culture of solidarity is built through actions, not words. Today we shared what cannot be produced or bought: blood, the most precious gift that one person can give to another. Aware of the importance of supporting the Institute, especially during the holiday season, with this action we sent a strong message of empathy, responsibility and solidarity. Because there are moments when someone's life depends precisely on our willingness to help.
"They are calling on all citizens to be part of the chain of kindness and join voluntary blood donation campaigns, because perhaps your help will bring someone a new chance at life," said Marija Manja Jovović, director of the "Do Good" Foundation.
"Currently, the voluntary blood donation rate in Montenegro is around 3.5%, while the World Health Organization recommends a minimum of 4%. That is why it is important that we continuously work on developing and raising awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation, in order to together reach and maintain the recommended level," they point out in the statement.
"By donating blood, we are giving the most valuable thing, a chance at life! We are grateful to the "Do Good" Foundation for bringing together humane people in this important mission for the 16th time."
"Voluntary blood donation campaigns are of great importance for the stability of the healthcare system. Every dose of blood can mean a new chance for someone, so we invite everyone who can to join the campaign," said Nela Eraković, a doctor at the Blood Transfusion Institute of Montenegro.
The action was attended by employees from the following companies: First Line Software, Codeus, Hipotekarna banka, Coinis, Bild Studio, NGO “Ladovina”, Wiener Stadtische životno osiguranje ad Podgorica and individuals who joined the action.
