Zabrana proizvodnje, uvoza, distribucije i prodaje filter-cigareta predstavljala bi , prema evropskom dokumentu, važan korak prema smanjenju konzumacije duvana. Kao dodatna regulatorna opcija spominje se i moguće ograničenje ili zabrana e-cigareta, koje se često reklamiraju kao zdravija alternativa klasičnom pušenju, ali i dalje izazivaju zabrinutost zdravstvenih vlasti zbog visokog udjela nikotina i privlačnosti među mladima.
