Montenegrin athlete Marija Bogavac excelled on the first day of the European Throwing Cup in Nicosia, throwing the javelin 56.32 meters and taking sixth place, which is also a new national record for Montenegro in javelin throwing.

With this shot, Bogavac surpassed the previous record of 54.77 meters, also her result, improving her personal and national record by 1.55 meters. The result confirms that the young Montenegrin national team player is in top form and can compete equally at the biggest international competitions.

The competition in Nicosia brought together the best throwers in Europe, and placing among the most successful with a new record makes this result even more significant for Montenegrin athletics.

Tomorrow, on the second day of the Winter European Cup in Nicosia, Montenegrin record holders will compete: Tomaš Đurović in the shot put and Amir Papazi in the javelin throw.
