"Lionesses" routined the French team, waiting for the draw from first place

The "Lionesses", who had previously secured their ninth consecutive appearance at the European Championship and their 20th major competition, routinely defeated the Faroe Islands 31:26 (22:14) tonight at the "Bemax Arena" and secured first place in the group.

Montenegro thus finished the qualifiers as the leader of Group 4 with 10 points, with five wins and only one (unexpected) loss – to Iceland in Hafnarfjordur. The draw is on Thursday.

The Faroe Islands then tied the score at 4:4, but Montenegro followed with a new 7:2 series for a convincing 15:6.

The most efficient players in our team were Đurđina Jauković and Dijana Mugoša with six goals each. Nikolina Marković added one less.

Armel Atingre had seven saves (two 7-pointers), Teodora Rončević collected five, and Anastasija Babović three successful interventions.
