The Montenegrin women's basketball team achieved the most convincing victory in history, as they defeated the Azerbaijani team 94:35 (22:7, 20:8, 27:12, 25:8) in the fifth round of Group E of the European Championship qualifiers today in Bar.

The "Reds" thus confirmed their great triumph against Ukraine three days ago and recorded their third win in these qualifiers, so they are now at 3-2. On the other hand, the group's outsider remained at the bottom with all five losses.

Just before the start of the match, the audience greeted Milica Jovanović, Jovana Pašić and Jelena Vučetić, who said goodbye to their national jerseys at last year's EuroBasket. KSCG thanked them for everything they did for the jersey with the national emblem, and they received framed jerseys as gifts.

As for the match itself in "Topolica", Nataša Mek opened it brilliantly with six consecutive points - 6:0. The direction this match would go was clear after a little over three minutes when Bojana Kovačević scored with a foul for a double-digit lead - 12:2, and after the opening ten minutes it was 22:7 in favor of our ladies.

At halftime, Jelena Škerović's team had a huge advantage of plus 27 (42:15), so the only dilemma in the rest of the match was by what margin the match would end.

The difference only grew minute by minute and reached a maximum of plus 61 at the very end of the match...

The most efficient player for the winners was Ksenija Šćepanović with 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists. She was followed by Andrea Glomazić with 16 and Nikolina Ilić and Janja Dragišić with 10 points each.

On the other side, Polina Shchukina led the way with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The "Reds" finish the first phase of the qualifiers on Tuesday against Bulgaria, also in Bar.
