The mayor of Podgorica, prof. Saša Mujović, Ph.D., with his colleagues, visited the Zagorič settlement today, where the renovation works on Nikola Tesla Street, 2.1 km long, were recently completed, and the value of the works was around 440,000 euros. He pointed out that this is another successfully implemented project to the satisfaction of the citizens.

"Zagorič and Zlatica are certainly our priorities for 2026, and by the end of this year we will also start work on the critical part of Iva Andrića Street, which is in a very bad condition," said the mayor during the tour. Speaking about long-standing infrastructure challenges, he pointed out that among the biggest problems is Brskutska street. "This is one of the problems that has been waiting for us and that has been lingering for years due to unresolved property and legal relations. In this sense, I have to praise the great efforts of the Agency for Construction and Development, which is working diligently to solve this problem. The process of creating the Main Project for the reconstruction of the underpass in Zlatica, which has been creating problems in this part of the city for years with every heavy rain, is underway. We are working intensively and we know what our priorities are, and with the dedicated work of city companies, we can do a lot. We will restore the shine to this part of Podgorica and provide all the necessary facilities".  Mujović also recalled yesterday's laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the Oktoih elementary school pavilion on Zabel, where the construction of a new school is also planned. "We are trying to develop every part of Podgorica evenly. Podgorica is not only the center of the city," emphasized the mayor.

In addition, the reconstruction of Vučedolska Street was recently completed, and the start of work on the access road near the Small Sports Stadium was also announced, which, after a long series of years, will enable obtaining a use permit. Projects in Maslini such as Novosadska, Vasa Bracanova, Sava Orovića streets have also been announced, requiring detailed rehabilitation and reconstruction, and which have challenges related to expropriation. In 2026, intensive work is expected to solve the problems in Zabjelo, the streets of Ksenija Cicvarić, Milan Mladenović and other neuralgic points, in cooperation with city services and businesses.

The President of the Assembly of the Capital City, Jelena Borovinić Bojović, said that the local administration and the Assembly consistently work in the interest of all residents of Podgorica, stressing that there are no marginalized, no neglected, no more or less important. "I am sure that the citizens recognize the efforts we are making and that this project will also contribute to a higher quality of life in this settlement," said Borovinić Bojović.

Director of the city company Putevi d.o.o. he reminded that during the previous year, this company achieved a record result when it comes to the construction and rehabilitation of traffic roads, carrying out works in a total length of 81 km. This year, that result was exceeded by an additional 20 kilometers, which confirms the continuous growth and improvement of the quality of work.

"I believe that we will continue in the same dynamic in the year ahead. The company is organized in the best way and we have great cooperation with the departmental secretariats and we are all on the same task," the director pointed out. He particularly emphasized the importance of investing in rural areas "In the villages of Lijeva Rijeka, we have about 93 kilometers of new roads, which we are particularly proud of." He also referred to the installation of speed limiters, stating that their location always depends on the profession. "Unfortunately, due to the way it is driven, retarders are a necessity, but they are installed solely on the basis of expert assessments," concluded Zečević.
