Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović told RTV Podgorica Portal that the state should show a reaction in the case of vandalism in Botun, before it is too late.

Mujović pointed out that the vandalism and attack on the property of the contractor at the Botun plant crossed a red line.

"The state must and will show determination to protect every part of Montenegro, every project, health and public interest. What happened in Botun last night is an example of how disinformation, lies and manipulation can affect not only political situations, but also everyday life and cause unpleasant scenes and destruction. This is a bad example and must not, nor should it happen anywhere, especially not in the countries that are next on the list for entry into the European Union," Mujović told us.

He again called on the authorities to fully investigate the entire case, to stand up for the state's protection, and to show that the state is not powerless in the face of vandalism.

"The project will not be stopped, but so that we do not wonder what the next plan of the irresponsible and ill-intentioned is, we must show a reaction now," said Mujović.

As a reminder, a machine at a construction site in Botun, where a wastewater treatment plant is being built, was set on fire this morning. The Water and Sewage Company states that the case has been reported to the police and that charges have been filed, and urges the authorities to respond urgently.
